Certifications Demonstrate AccuZIP's Adherence to Higher Industry Security Standards for a Service Organization
LEAGUE CITY, Texas, July 29, 2020 (Newswire.com) - AccuZIP Inc., a national software company headquartered in League City, Texas, announced that it has again successfully completed its Service Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) examination under AT Section 101, Attest Engagements (AICPA, Professional Standards), a consecutive achievement since 2013. AccuZIP also announced that it has successfully completed a separate and extensive security review and is HIPAA compliant for another consecutive year. The examinations were performed by an independent auditing firm.
Completion of the SOC 2 Type I examination indicates that selected AccuZIP Inc. processes, procedures and controls have been formally evaluated and tested by an independent accounting and auditing firm. The examination included the company’s controls related to the Trust Services Principles, Criteria for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy.
A SOC 2 examination is widely recognized because it represents that a service organization has been through an evaluation of their control activities as they relate to the applicable Trust Services Principles and Criteria.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, defines policies and procedures, as well as processes, which are required of companies that store, process or handle electronic health information that is considered “protected” (ePHI).
